Scholarly Activity

The program’s research curriculum is designed to teach residents about evidence-based medicine, systematic evidence assessment, research methodology and design, scientific and grant writing, and the basics of biostatistics. This educational activity also provides residents with a regular forum to present their scholarly work and receive a constructive critique.

Each Psychiatry resident is expected to complete one scholarly project in each year of training. These projects can be case reports, series, retrospective studies, focused prospective clinical projects, a systematic review of the evidence, meta-analysis, or a QI-based project or a part of a larger study. These may lead to presentations [oral, poster] and publications [abstract, paper, book chapter].
