The Gateway Addiction Medicine fellowship is one year subspecialty training program and is open to physicians of all specialties who have completed residency. The fellowship is accredited by the ACGME. Physicians who complete addiction medicine fellowship training are eligible for board certification by the American Board of Preventative Medicine or the American Osteopathic Association.
The goal of fellowship training is to develop expertise in the diagnosis and management of addictive disease. Fellowship training prepares graduates to become leaders in their communities, hospitals and academic medical centers.
Our unique community-based program offers diverse clinical training with interdisciplinary faculty. We offer extensive experience in both abstinence-based and harm-reduction recovery modalities, pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy and residential, outpatient and hospital-based settings.
Clinical rotations include experiences in emergency department overdose and addictive disease management, office-based pain management, dual diagnosis inpatient and outpatient treatment, consult liaison, adolescent addiction, street medicine, women’s residential and intensive outpatient program.

Program Overview
Addiction Medicine at Gateway Behavioral Health, CSB is a 12-month ACGME accredited program open to all specialties in the medical field. Applicants must be board eligible or board certified in their primary specialty and qualify to obtain a Georgia License. Gateway does not offer visa sponsorship at this time. Schedule is subject to change depending on educational background.

There will be one consult phone number where all consults will be placed. The fellow rotating on service will be responsible for routing this to their cell.
