Welcome to the Psychiatry Residency located in Savannah, GA.
It is an exciting time in Savannah as psychiatric services are extended in the community through a new ACGME accredited Psychiatry program. We have inducted our first class and looking forward to our next class. This community based program emphasizes education over service and provides training in outpatient clinics, teaching hospitals, FQHC’s, and the department of family medicine. We are pleased with your interest in the program.
The faculty of over 18 board certified psychiatrists, who are all engaged in active clinical practice, look forward to assisting your transition into the next phase of training and preparation for a dynamic career of community based practice and journey to board certified status.
Gateway seeks to provide patient-centered, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed evidence-based and cost-efficient patient care across the full continuum of treatment in a collaborative healthcare environment.
In the program we focus on the balance of clinical experience and scholarly activity. Your time is protected for formal didactics, which include case presentations, discussion of journal articles, interactive seminars, formal training in motivational interviewing as well as other forms of psychotherapy, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
We are excited about your journey and we hope to be a part of your transition into the next phase of training. The diverse opportunities, enthusiastic faculty, and southern coastal city set the stage for an enjoyable and fulfilling residency experience. Thank you for your interest. We look forward to meeting you soon.
